It is a requirement of the Education Act that all absences from school must be explained by the parent or guardian. Those notes must be dated and specify the reasons for the absence(s). Notes should be brought to the Form Teacher either before the absence, if possible, or on the day the student returns to school, indicating the reason for the absence. Alternatively, parents may phone Student Services on 9757 0795 or send a fax.
Where you may be absent for a prolonged period of time your parents should contact the school as soon as possible. Homework may be arranged if the absence is expected to be a week or longer. The provision of school work is a matter to be negotiated with the classroom teacher.
LATE TO SCHOOL
Students are expected to begin all classes on time. Late arrival interrupts the learning of other class members. If you arrive late to school you must sign in at Student Services and get a late note. You will not be admitted to class without a late note.
APPOINTMENTS TO LEAVE SCHOOL
Students who have a dentist’s or doctor’s appointment are to report to Student Services before school with a note from their parent/guardians. Students will then be issued a Standard Leave Pass.
PERMISSION TO GO DOWN TOWN AND HOME DURING LUNCH BREAK
Students who live in town and go home every day for lunch are asked to bring a note from their parents indicating this.
Parents who require their child to do the occasional errand down town at lunchtime are asked to write a note for that day. The student is to give the note to Student Services before school who will issue a Leave Pass.
Except for these two circumstances, all students are required to stay at school.
Students are not permitted to go down town to purchase lunches. Lunches are brought from home or ordered from the school canteen.
