I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all students, parents and staff to Margaret River Senior High School for 2015. In particular, I welcome students in Year 7 and 8 and students who are new to Margaret River Senior High School and attending for the first time. We thank you for choosing our school and hope that your time with us will be both productive and rewarding.
The beginning of the 2015 year brings exciting change to Margaret River Senior School. Year 7 students enter high school for the first time and the school’s population will rise to 870 students. This allows us to provide a wider and more diverse curriculum with the resources that the extra students generate.
In 2014 the students at Margaret River Senior High School achieved outstanding ATAR results. The school’s median ATAR of 81.6 made Margaret River SHS the highest achieving country school, including government and non -government schools in the state in this category. As well, the school finished in the top 50 schools in the state for students who achieved a final scaled mark of 75+ (ranked 33rd) and for students who had a final scaled score in a subject above 65(ranked 24th). Margaret River SHS was the highest ranked Senior High School, in all these categories, in the Southwest. We are very proud of the achievement of this group of students and congratulate them on their outstanding efforts.
